These photos are to share the beauty of our land south of Cheney, Washington. We are in process of creating a home on the land. Please feel free to ask questions or share your thoughts.
These photos are rather large so if you are on a slow feed please be patient.
Here are the recent photos.
For those viewers who haven't been following the whole project, or may have forgotten how the plan looks, here is a copy of our phase 1 floor plan. One fourth of the building is finished. Three fourths of the building is "storage and future." A floor plan for the completed project is on our page 1. Phase 1 has enough of the building to move in and live comfortably. There is about 1,500 square feet of finished space, as large as many homes.
Here is a photo showing our divider wall with both big doors open. It's not really that dark. The camera used the outside light levels on a sunny day to adjust the light in the picture.
The state electric inspector came today and tested various circuits. He signed the electric permit as passed final. The electric wiring and fixtures are approved for residential use. It's a necessary step to get complete approval for occupancy.
After the electric inspector went away we got out the industrial floor polisher and started stripping the vinyl floor in preparation for it's commercial grade sealer and polish. When done it will shine. We left that till the very last so we don't have to walk all over it with more construction.
After the floor is stripped and dried it gets two coats of sealer and three coats of gloss polish. Here Justin is burnishing the polish with the buffer.
Here is the finished living room. You can see reflections clearly in the high gloss floor.
Here is the finished living room from the NE corner looking toward the kitchen.
Here's the finished kitchen area looking toward the bedroom.
Here's the finished bedroom.
The big doors remind us that there awaits another several thousand square feet of unfinished space. At least we will have a finished residence of adequate size where we can live comfortably while it is being worked on.
The county building inspector came out on April 27, 2006, and signed the final inspection certificate. He was more interested in looking at our surplus U-Haul truck because he has one and is working on the dashboard area of his. He liked our project. We do too.
