These photos are to share the beauty of our land south of Cheney, Washington. We are in process of creating a home on the land. Please feel free to ask questions or share your thoughts.

Its been a while since our last photo page. Here is some catch up.

1 kitchen wall

Now that part of our new kitchen is functional, its time to close the temporary small kitchen and finish the rest of the new kitchen. First up is a half wall dividing our nook and marking off the kitchen from other spaces. In this photo a half wall has been framed and wired. Wallboard is being installed on wall between new kitchen and the old temporary kitchen area.

2 kitchen wall 2

Here is a second photo of the half wal under construciton. It is anchored fast to the concrete floor for stability.

3 ready for paint

Once wallboard is hung and the joints are taped and mudded, its time for spray texture and paint. In these photos some plastic has been hung to prevent overspray on the rest of the house.

4 ready for paint 2

This is the place that once was our temporary kitchen. Now it is just a wall ready for texture and paint.

5 foyer repaired

The location of our original temporary ktichen is now an entry foyer. From our front entry there is an entry hall with air lock doors at each end. Then you are into this foyer. Its all reparied and painted.

6 kitchen painted

This picture shows the half wall painted and finished. It separates our kitchen space from the living room space without blocking visual space.

7 kitchen painted 2

This photo shows the completed wall dividng the foyer from the kitchen.

8 kitchen painted 3

This photo shows the kitchen side of the half wall. Its the other side from photo 6 above.

9 nook with bench

Once painting was finished its time to start putting our stuff there. We found this beautiful solid oak bench set on the side of a street with a "free" sign one afternoon some years ago. Its been waiting for this location ever since. We have ordered some new custom made cushions which are currently being made.

10 cabinets moved

Most of the cabinets from our temporary kitchen fit right into this space on the other side of the same wall. Another lower cabinet and two more upper cabinets are needed to fill in to where our other cabinets end. An island is also planned. We have discontinued doing cabinet finishing inside because of smell and overspray, so we will wait for spring and warm outdoor weather to resume our cabinet work.

Well, that's all the photos for now. When we get something else done I may get around to posting again.
