These photos are to share the beauty of our land south of Cheney, Washington. We are in process of creating a home on the land. Please feel free to ask questions or share your thoughts.
These photos are rather large so if you are on a slow feed please be patient.
This week we finished the building plinths and stem walls all around, put in the perimeter insulation, and got ready for backfill. While the trenches were open we added a whole lot of sprinkler pipe for future gardens and whatever may come. Today it rained most of the day, the first real rain we have had in months. You can see the clouds and maybe an occasional water drop on the camera lense.
Here are this week's photos.
The first few photos are scenes of the finished concrete foundation that is the perimeter of our new house. The first photo looks south.
The first few photos are scenes of the finished concrete foundation that is the perimeter of our new house. Pink foam insulation is glued to the concrete all around. It will prevent heat loss from under the edge of the floor when the house is heated. This is looking to the northeast corner.

The 4" pipe to the septic tank sewer treatment system is stubbed in. We can't connect it yet because the inside piping has to be pressure tested. We aren't going to install the inside drain piping until after the roof is up. Until then we have to leave a gap.
We installed about 1400 feet of PVC pipe, all of which come back to the well control and valve closet on the south side.
The orange pipe is compressed air to and from the future garage. The black pipe is water to the future garage. The green pipe runs to the 4 corners of the foundation for future use. The unpainted pipe runs 250 feet east to the septic tank area. The blue pipe goes to the future control valves for the lawn sprinklers. The two gray pipes are electrical conduit stub outs, one for the well pump wiring and one for the sprinkler control wires.
We installed pipe for 4 future sprinkler zones at each corner of the building. It is set up to install a row of electric control valves on a timer.
We also installed two 30-foot ground rods near where the future electric service panel will go. You are supposed to drive them straight down, but it's solid rock.
Our next job is to raise the steel posts on the imbedded anchor bolts. We are anxious for backfill to be done by Wayne, or dirt guy, so we can get started.
